Hidden Jewels Bath Bombs!

Every Mermaid needs some jewels!

We’ve got the spirit, you’ve got to see it, Under the sea”

EQUIPMENT YOU’LL NEED…

A large mixing bowl

Kitchen Scales

A hand sprayer containing clean cold water

NEW Clam/Sea Shell shape mould

A teaspoon to measure the glitter (If added)

BASIC INGREDIENTS…

300g Bicarbonate of Soda

100g Citric Acid

10ml Fragrance Oil or Essential Oil of your choice

[ Optional]: We have added Crystalina for a sparkly look to the bath

Step 1

Like all our bath bomb recipes, start by measuring out the bicarbonate of soda and the citric acid into the mixing bowl. Sieve if necessary and thoroughly mix together until you have a consistent texture. Add fragrance if you wish and make sure this is also thoroughly mixed in. I’m going to make this bath bomb super girly so why not go for a sweet raspberry smell?

Step 2

Add your pearly sparkles! You can use a colour if you wish but, for my bath bomb, I’m going to use some crystal glitter. This will look fab against the plain white mixture and the sparkles will really shine. They will also float to the surface in the bath.

Step 3

Using my hand sprayer, a little at a time and working the mixture all the time, I spray a little water on it with the hand sprayer. Make sure you mix continuously to avoid it fizzing-up in the bowl and ONLY ADD ENOUGH WATER TO HAVE THE MIXTURE START TO HOLD TOGETHER WHEN LIGHTLY SQUEEZED IN YOUR HAND.

Step 4

I fill both sides of the sea shell mould/clam with my sparkly mixture just proud of the surface and leaving just enough room for the surprise. Today’s surprise is a Pearl bracelet because of course, every mermaid needs some jewels!

Step 5

Press together for a few moments and then leave to dry for a while all snug in the mould.

Step 6

Drop it the bath, find your hidden jewels and become the beautiful mermaid* you have always dreamt of being!

*Note- Bath Bombs do not have the power to turn you into a real mermaid… yet.
