How To Make Honey Bee Melt & Pour Soaps
As today is National Honey Bee Awareness Day we thought it was appropriate to use one of our bee moulds! As well as our Honey Crystal base to create these wonderful Honey Bee Melt & Pour Soaps.
To celebrate our hard little worker bees!
Our Stephenson Honey Soap Base is made using real honey, the rich soap base contains the natural antioxidants from honey, ideal for soothing the skin.
For the main part of the soap we didn't add any additional colouring, as we wanted to show you the bases honey colour.
Check out our Honey Soap Base.
To create the detail on the bees we used pipettes to help control the flow of the soap. We also mixed a small amount of the Honey Base with some white and used that to highlight the outline of the honeycomb.

Step 1
Firstly, wearing appropriate safety equipment, accurately weigh out your ingredients.
Step 2
We will start will your little bees. For this we used a small amount of white soap base, it really is a small amount. We chopped it into small cubes and placed in the microwave to melt.
Step 3
Once melted pour some into each of your bowls, leaving some white in your jug.
Step 4
In one bowl mix in a small amount of activated charcoal. In the other bowl add in a small amount of yellow Zenicolor and mix. You should have a the perfect black and yellow for your bee.
Step 5
Using a pipette carefully and reasonably quickly create your bees. By adding your three colour soaps where appropriate. Then spray with isopropyl alcohol leave to solidify.
Step 6
Next, using your soap cutter, cut your honey base into small cubes, this helps speed up the melting process.
Step 7
Then place into your jug and melt in the microwave on a medium heat. Preferably in intervals to ensure you don’t boil your soap. Initially melt for 1 minute then stir and put back in. Keep an eye on your soap as it can get hot very fast.
Step 8
Once melted remove from the microwave and give it a good stir. Add your Honey Fragrance and stir well.
Step 9
When you are happy, slowly pour your soap mix into you soap moulds on top of your bees. Gently spray with IPA and leave to set, preferably overnight.
Step 10
When your soaps have set fully, remove them from their moulds. Then you can enjoy your Honey Bee Melt & Pour Soaps!
